Meet The Team
Hi, I'm Shelsea — I came to weddings through floral design, drawn in by the details and the artistry of it all. What started with flowers became something much bigger, and in 2023 I opened Ray of Sunshine Weddings. My background as a practicing attorney means I bring the same precision and calm to a wedding day that I bring to everything else I do.
What drew me to this work was the logistics, the timelines, the moving pieces that have to land perfectly at exactly the right moment. But what made me fall in love with it was something I did not expect: it's the speeches that make the whole room go quiet, the cake that someone spent weeks perfecting, and the late night snack that brings everyone back to the dance floor. It means the world to be trusted with a day this meaningful.
Hi, I'm Alli — As a kid I used to ask for wedding magazines on my birthday and have never really kicked that wedding obsession. I've been helping couples with their wedding day since 2017, when I started in the industry as a wedding hashtag writer. Yes, that was my real job. From there I've pretty much done it all, I've designed for floral teams, sold bridal veils, and assisted some powerhouse wedding planners.
I'm so honored to help DMV couples plan their day with the same care, calm, and excitement my vendors gave me on my wedding day, making sure every little moment feels just right. My favorite parts of the day? A good ceremony cry, daddy-daughter dances, and late-night snacks that keep the reception going.
